Thailand, formerly known as Siam, is located in Southeast Asia on the Indochina Peninsula, bordered by Laos and Cambodia to the east, the Gulf of Thailand and Malaysia to the south, and the Andaman Sea and Myanmar to the west. Bangkok is the national capital.
Thailand enjoys a tropical climate in general, where the climate is divided into three main seasons: cold from November to February, rainy from May to October, and hot between March and May. While the period from November to February is the best time to visit most areas in Thailand, as temperatures drop and rain decreases.
