Malaysia is located in Southeast Asia and is made up of 13 states and three federal territories. The country is divided by the South China Sea into two regions, Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo's East Malaysia. The borders of Malaysia include land and maritime borders with Thailand, Indonesia, and Brunei and shared maritime boundaries with Singapore, the Philippines, and Vietnam. Kuala Lumpur is the national capital.
